YouTube and me.

Occassionally I do a Google search on my name and on the titles of my plays to see what might be being performed (with or without permissions). Today I decided to check YouTube to see if anyone might be posting a video of any of my plays and sure enough, I found my comedy "Burglars, Bunglers, and Neighborhood Thieves" filmed by high school students, as a movie (not staged as a play). It's about what you would expect from high schoolers ... clumsy, uneven, but it was still a bit of fun to see it. It's posted on YouTube in four parts. I'm imbedding them here. My only real complaint ... why don't I get better billing?!

I haven't had time to watch all of this (yet anyway) but don't they need some type of special permission to do this?

Yes. And if the quality were any good and I thought people would watch it, I'd probably report it to the publisher. I still may. I think that there's a great deal of illegal posting to YouTube.

Yeah, no kidding. I think you should report it, just on general principle, if nothing else. On the other hand, if it's on YouTube, probably people will watch it. Then again, you posted it on your own blog...

Oops. That's true. I did post it on my own blog. But then nobody reads this blog but you.

True dat. Which, I suppose, is why you use comment moderation, even after I have to use the word verification...

Actually, I'm not sure why the comment moderation is on. I don't remember doing it, and I've just never thought of turning it off.

I guess, if I could make you jump through a hoop first, too ... !

You mean you're not the one who set up this flaming hoop in my computer room?
