It has snowed, hailed, "slushed" and just about every other type of weather possible to come down from the sky while we are here visiting.
Here is a rare photo of snow in the mountains in Santa Barbara. I took this from my rental car. The snow was not there two hours later.

This is what people in California think is snow: something up in the mountains that's gone in two hours. Here in Minnesota (or the real world), snow comes in inches and sometimes feet, and stays around for weeks, sometimes months.
Of course this photo only shows the snow in the mountains, but it did snow in the city as well. Well ... more like slushy hail.
And as a native of the great upper Midwest, I agree that what they consider to be snow pales by comparison, but when one is on vacation and packs only short-sleeved shirts, when it's cold enough to snow AT ALL, it's too damned cold.
I'm off to Arizona in two weeks. Let's hope it doesn't snow too much in Phoenix.
